Hi Everyone, While you can't tell from the 90+ degree tempuratures we are having to start September, there are some signs that the fall season is upon us. The local High School football teams are back on the field as well as the Bloomsburg, Bucknell, and Penn State University football squads. On my way to Penn State last weekend I started noticing that some of the trees in the mountains have started to turn. With the start of the leave's turn, we also tend to see a turn in the local real estate market. While our market continues to move along we do tend to see the "back to school" slow down which occurs this time of year. Seller's continue to list properties for sale, but there tend to be less buyers in the market once the kids get back to school. Don't get me wrong, real estate still continues to move this time of year but it just takes a little longer. While things do tend to move a little slower in the falls months, we are incouraged by the fact that the government has passed The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008. This is good news to buyers as it will increase loan limits and provide up to a $7,500 tax credit for first-time home buyers for homes purchased between April 1, 2008 and July 1, 2009. This should help get more buyers into the market, which is good for sellers who currently have their homes listed for sale!
